Watch Shopping in Tokyo: A Trip to Jackroad A Vintage Mecca in Japan

I spent two weeks in Japan this past April and managed to do a bit of watch shopping in Tokyo. I started out simply popping into small watch stores I happened to walk past, but quickly set my sights on Jackroad. For the video walk through and some more watch pictures from my Japan trip, click on through!

The store is located in the Nakano Broadway shopping complex, a multi-story indoor mall with everything from clothing, anime, and manga stores, to dollar discounts and used book stores. The building is also host to a number of watch stores, many of which specialize in modern used Rolex. The shining beacon of the building of course, is Jackroad.

The storefront is one of the largest in the mall, and is bursting with pieces from every luxury watch brand, used, new, and vintage (which they label “antique”). One of the first cases I laid eyes on contained a dozen or more pieces by Patek Philippe and A. Lange & Söhne. They had plenty of vintage Rolex Submariners, GMTs, and a few vintage Omega Speedmasters. Overall, it was an incredible sight to behold, and I would highly recommend a visit if you have a few hours to spare in Tokyo!
